Mainstream Software – Peter Wallace, president
Give us an example of a business challenge your organization faced, as well as how you overcame it.
When the company first began in 1989, we created custom software solutions for various clients. We then transitioned to developing and supporting a single software product, which is our current CrossForm solution. The transition included taking on support issues for national clients and ensuring the product continues to undergo enhancements and updates as our clientele increases and our customers’ needs change. We continue to hire additional developers and support staff to accommodate the growth and changes.
In what ways are you an innovative leader, and how does your organization employ innovation to be on the leading edge?
Keeping an open mind and listening to new ideas has always been key at our company. We are able to respond to changing technology and have access to resources that allow us to incorporate new technologies into our products to meet the needs of our customers and attract new clients.
What is the greatest lesson you’ve learned and how have you applied it?
It has been important for us to learn that we cannot take on every project, that our time and resources have their limits. Our number one priority is to maintain the quality of the products and services we provide, including superior customer support. We believe that because of this quality service, we will retain our clients and continue to grow.
How does your organization make a significant impact on the community and regional economy?
We do our best to support smaller, local vendors when purchasing items such as our promotional and printing products.
