Dr. Gregory B. Getts, President, Mutual Shareholder Services, LLC
In what ways is your company an innovator in its industry, and how does your organization employ innovation to be on the leading edge?
Mutual Shareholder Services, LLC has been an innovative leader since its inception by providing low cost services to a market of clients that otherwise would not be able to survive and compete against larger, more established mutual funds. We continue to be a cost-effective leader by developing all software in-house.
How does your organization make a significant impact on the community and regional economy, either through charitable contributions, volunteerism or setting an example for other organizations & leaders to follow?
Our organization makes a significant impact on the community and regional community as a whole by employing local people and contributing to the tax base. Mutual Shareholder Services, LLC also gives Cleveland a presence in the mutual fund service arena.
Mutual Shareholder Services, LLC supports local and national charities through corporate cash donations and employee volunteerism.
Providing internships to Ohio colleges has proven beneficial for both the student and our company. Many interns are trying to decide their career aspirations while others want experience in the financial industry. Their success is our success!
Give us an example of a business challenge your organization faced during its growth, as well as how you overcame it.
Mutual Shareholder Services, LLC’s greatest business challenge throughout the years has been in training and keeping a staff adequate to meet a growing market. With the fluctuating economy, we have tried to keep a staff that is adequate to meet our needs, while adding qualified people as the market grows. Unfortunately, at times, we have faced the addition of clients at a rate faster than our staff could grow and be trained. As a way to overcome this, we have tried to bring on additional people to train in anticipation of new business.
What is the greatest lesson you’ve learned as a business leader, an entrepreneur, or as an organization, and how have you applied this lesson toward fostering growth?
The greatest lesson we have learned is that good service and low costs are effective marketing tools. Mutual Shareholder Services, LLC does not rely on a massive sales force as our reputation speaks for itself.
Listening to the staffs’ and our clients’ needs and ideas has enabled us to engage all involved entities toward decisions to consistently provide personalized service, which is the trademark of our company.
