Q: Give us an example of a business challenge your organization faced, as well as how you overcame it.
In 2002 we recognized the need for transition, in response to what the evolving mid-tier Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) market was asking for. As a provider of “classic” ERP products and implementation services based solely on an IBM platform until that point, the business was transformed to include products and services on Intel based servers and from Microsoft. It has been this investment in existing staff, new staff, and the products we now offer that have fueled growth during a challenging time in our economy. This required a genuine faith in our excellent staff to embrace change, retrain, and join this vision for the future.
Q: In what ways are you an innovative leader, and how does your organization employ innovation to be on the leading edge?
We have developed products which enable multi-site operations and lean manufacturing execution which are employed not only by domestic customers, but worldwide. This has required us to rely on the latest in collaborative team communications technology to empower our employees and enable successful product development. Extending these same collaboration techniques outside the walls of our business have also improved customer service and enabled customer self service in viewing the progress and status of their implementations.
Q: What is the greatest lesson you’ve learned and how have you applied it?
Finding the right employees to embrace corporate vision and be empowered to service our valued customers to their mutual benefit. Men and women of character will share each other’s burdens during trials, and find joy in mutual success. The pearls of triumph can be great, but the journey will be riddled with challenges. It is our accountability and commitment to each other which insure victory.
Q: How does your organization make a significant impact on the community and regional economy?
We provide cost effective delivery to Northeast Ohio and “rust belt” manufacturers and distributors by providing high tech, high value products and services through a local presence model which enables us to give the best value for every customer dollar spent. This also has provided local high tech job opportunities, as we are a business who treasures the personal and family time of each and every team member. As a result nearly fifty percent of our employees have been with us for twenty or more years.
