Q: Give us an example of a business challenge the organization faced, as well as how the organization over came it.
One of the main challenges encountered during our start-up phase was the initial sales process. Our market continues to be highly competitive. Once given an opportunity, we understood there would be tremendous pressure to deliver quality products on-time.
Attracting personnel that could perform in a safe and efficient manner was our primary objective. Through training and communication, the organization was able to assure customer needs were continually serviced.
Q: In what ways are you an innovative leader, and how does your organization employ innovation to be on the leading edge?
Our industry works at a very fast pace to bring new items to market for local manufacturers. Having employee participation in expansion and development is a primary objective. These include decisions involving new equipment and related training procedures.
One of the decisions included the addition of a computer aided design system. It allows us to control new projects by providing a working prototype to customers and a controlled specification for our manufacturing personnel.
Q: What is the greatest lesson you’ve learned and how have you applied it?
The greatest lesson we have learned is that communication is critical. Recognizing opportunities and having open lines of communication with our vendors and personnel allows the organization to respond effectively.
Q: How does your organization make a significant impact on the community and regional economy?
We are proud to work with local vendors and businesses. Our growth and job creation is something we strive to continue. Providing packaging solutions that are functional and cost effective also helps assure our customers are competitive in their respective markets.
